Do you thrive in a fast-paced role and have excellent attention to detail for administering and managing documents on projects? If so, we have an exciting opportunity within YTL Construction for an experienced Document Controller to join our team.
What you'll do
Working within the YTL Construction team, you will play a key role managing documents and information control systems via Viewpoint (4Projects), providing an information management service to project teams as well as being the main interface for both internal and external parties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- maintaining accurate records of all drawings and other construction documents issued by consultants and contractors through each stage of the project
- processing a large number of documents daily, including through a quality assurance check, printing and review/distribution, and electronic forwarding to create an accurate and comprehensive audit trail
- ensuring that every drawing or other design document is received by the relevant trades and consultants
- managing the request for information (RFI) process, providing reports to the project team as necessary
- providing the team with timely and accurate answers to all document control-related queries
- undertaking regular reviews of the system to ensure effective use across the projects
- maintaining an accurate, efficient and user-friendly filing system, ensuring that copies of drawings and documents are easily found
- communicating to the project team the abilities of the document control system and providing training, technical and procedural support for all users
- other administrative duties while on site, this will be a daily task
- meeting and greeting visitors on site.
What you'll need
This role is site-based, so it is key that you are comfortable being located as such.
We're looking for someone who has:
- experience of using Viewport (formerly 4Projects)
- knowledge of document control and/or construction industry processes/terminology
- experience using an electronic document control system
- experience with snagging software such as Fieldview or SnagR (these are what we use currently)
- experience of working within the construction industry (in a similar role)
- experience with Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) and relevant packages.
A valid UK driving licence is required for this position, as the role will be site-based.
