Do you enjoy working in a variety of conditions? Are you great at managing and prioritising your own workload? If so, we have a great opportunity for you in our Compliance team as a Flow Measurement Technician!
This role will see you travelling across the picturesque Wessex Water region which covers Bristol, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Bridgwater and everything in between.
What you'll do
As a Flow Measurement Technician, you will be working in a small team where you will be installing, commissioning and maintaining flow measurement equipment at our water recycling centres, water treatment centres and pumping stations, ensuring it meets strict standards of accuracy and reliability set by our regulator.
This is a hands-on practical job that requires a methodical approach and great attention to detail. Day-to-day activities include checking and adjusting electronic sensors, monitors and loggers, together with auditing and certifying flow measurement installations to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
What you'll need
We are looking for a self-motivated individual as, although you will work as part of a team, most of your time will be spent working independently, therefore the natural ability to manage and prioritise your own workload is crucial.
In addition, we are looking for:
- good maths and English (ideally, to GCSE level or equivalent)
- IT literacy
- confined space trained (although training can be given)
- excellent analytical and fault-finding skills
- an NVQ in electrical maintenance (advantageous but not essential).
Please note due to the nature of this role you will travel to different sites within the Wessex Water region, therefore holding a full clean driving licence is essential. A company vehicle will be provided.
What you'll receive
- A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
- Career progression and professional development opportunities.
- 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
- The opportunity to buy up to ten days' holiday and sell up to five every year.
- A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
- Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
- A new electric car in exchange for part of your gross salary, subject to conditions.
- Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
- One paid volunteering day each year.
- Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
- An interactive health and wellbeing platform.
- Support from mental health first aiders.
- A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone to work for us.
