An exciting and newly created opportunity has become available for a Head of Programme Buying to join the YTL UK 'Procurement Hub', YTL Construction.  Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for programme procurement for all YTL Infrastructure activities.

The UK ‘Procurement Hub' provides best-in-class procurement to all YTL UK Businesses. This role operates mainly within YTL Infrastructure which is a subsidiary of YTL Construction and is focused on the delivery of AMP8 (and beyond) for Wessex Water.

The successful individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a programme buying approach to support the capital delivery programme for YTL Infrastructure. Working closely with delivery and commercial colleagues you and your team will develop and implement a centralised programme buying approach to ensure value and commercial advantage is gained with challenging timescales being maintained.

This new role requires a transformational and resilient mindset, implementing a new approach to procurement across the YTL UK Procurement Hub.  

What you'll do 

As an experienced procurement professional, you will require extensive experience in all aspects of procurement. 

You will have the ability to think strategically to implement programme buying across multiple projects as well as having a focus on the detail in complex environments.

You will be responsible for the procurement of products and equipment critical for the successful delivery of the capital programme.

You will be a key figure in the development of procurement plans and processes which will deliver the best outcomes for all that we buy.

You will be required to work collaboratively with the Head of Commercial and the Delivery teams to implement new approaches to procurement and gain improved commercial outcomes whilst maintaining a focus on programme timings.

You will also be responsible for developing and growing your team across varying levels.

What you'll need

In this important role, you will have extensively worked within procurement in particular, sectors such as construction, automotive, oil and gas, energy, or similar, particularly on large-scale capital delivery programmes of work. 

Leadership, collaboration (both internal and external), and influencing skills are an essential part of this role, particularly positively changing cultural mindset.

You will be degree or equivalently qualified and will have previously worked in a ‘centralised procurement hub' environment. Extensive experience in programme buying, contract negotiations, and the procurement of critical capital or core assets is essential.

A background in working alongside ‘design and build' contractors or large sub-contractor to deliver procurement strategies would be beneficial.

You will have the ability to adapt and support varied procurement approaches with knowledge and experience on major infrastructure investment programmes and the necessary skills to communicate, influence, and challenge at all levels to achieve the required outcomes.
