In this role, you will manage and work closely with the Occupational Health and Safety team, providing day-to-day support/guidance to partners, and developing and monitoring their performance to meet business needs.
You will also provide support and guidance as required to Wessex Water management teams.
What you'll do
In this exciting and varied role, you will:
- undertake regular visits to sites providing guidance and support to the Health and Safety team and other local teams
- share learnings across projects and business areas with respective managers, directors and teams
- contribute to the continuous improvement of our health and safety performance
- provide support for the development of SLT and board reports and papers
- attend business area meetings to ensure that a clear and consistent message is delivered to management teams
- review and monitor health and safety incident and observation trends, providing analysis to enable strategies and campaigns to be developed
- escalate in line with company requirements any significant incidents (including any lost time incident) or injury to a member of the public
- provide support on the planning and future development of health and safety-related initiatives, across all areas of the organisation
- monitor, support and lead on health and safety investigations as required
- engage with the business to help improve reporting of incidents, near misses and good practice, learning from both positive and negative events can occur
- support our health and safety campaigns and initiatives
- provide site support to external accreditation/compliance audits
- partake in the creation of award submissions.
What you'll need
We are looking for:
- NEBOSH diploma or equivalent
- working knowledge of operating high-hazard sites including lower-tier COMAH sites
- experience working across a multi-site environment delivering practical solutions to often complex problems
- the ability to positively engage, influence and promote a positive safety culture at all levels
- the ability to be self-motivated and plan day to day activities
- IT and communication report writing skills.
