Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a self-motivated and dedicated health & safety professional to lead and support our Health and Safety team across a portfolio of major construction and infrastructure projects.  

This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are upheld throughout our operations, with a strong focus on high-risk environments, multi-site delivery and complex projects.

What you'll do 

You'll lead a team of Health & Safety Partners supporting major construction projects, working closely with project teams and contractors to ensure compliance and embed a strong safety culture.

Using data insights, you'll drive continuous improvement through targeted campaigns and support senior leadership with strategic reporting and planning. 

Other duties will include: 

• championing a proactive safety culture, promoting best practices and lessons learned across all construction and operational teams
• overseeing and supporting investigations into incidents and near misses, ensuring robust root cause analysis and corrective actions
• representing the business during external audits and accreditation processes, ensuring readiness and compliance
• contributing to award submissions and recognition of safety excellence across projects
• identifying and monitoring trends and KPIs
• working collaboratively with other members of the management team. 

What you'll need 

We are seeking a charismatic and enthusiastic individual to join our professional Health & Safety team. This role involves leading, mentoring, and further developing the workforce and immediate reports, while promoting a positive health & safety culture and behaviours throughout the organisation.  

You'll also have:

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
• a comprehensive understanding of current Health and Safety legislation 
• proven experience managing health and safety across major construction or infrastructure projects, ideally including high-hazard environments 
• previous experience of working and leading within a team environment 
• first-hand knowledge of ISO45001 management systems
• strong understanding of CDM regulations and construction site safety protocols
• demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, from site operatives to senior leadership
• excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills, with the ability to develop trends and recommend improvement strategies
• self-motivation, be organised and capable of managing multiple priorities across a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
