The prupose of the Mechanical Technician is to provide efficient mechanical operation, maintenance, fault finding, diagnosis and repair of NNB Generation Company's utility assets including potable supply network, water management network, sewerage network and sewage treatment assets

What you'll do

  • Provide a maintenance function for on-site utilities and outlying sites
  • React to breakdowns and reactive tasks in a timely fashion
  • Understand and maintain health and safety standards and awareness
  • Identify and implement high standards of cleanliness and house keeping
  • Have the ability to strip down and rebuild submersible, spindle and mono pumps
  • Have an understanding of screens and belt presses
  • Recognise and understand potable and waste treatment processes
  • Carry out basic fault diagnostics on mechanical systems
  • Identify and source replacement parts from O&M's
  • Gain an understanding and working knowledge of UV dosing systems
  • Recommend improvements and efficiencies
  • Supervise third party contractor work to ensure compliance with H&S standards

What you'll need

  • 2+ years experience of construction site works, preferably in a regulated business area, such as the Nuclear or water industry
  • Must hold appropriate H&S qualifications such as CSCS
  • Other Construction related qualifications preferred
  • ATEX DSEAR Awareness
  • Confined Spaces (Medium Risk)
  • Mechanical Installation Qualifications
  • NVQ3 or C&G in mechanical installation
