This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
What you'll do
You'll be joining a dynamic team of professionals, playing a key role in shaping both the short and long-term planning of our water resources, as we develop our next plans for 2029. - working with the wider team to develop and improve our data science workflows in Azure DevOps
- developing Python code to support our wider scientific planning work, which may include hydrological modelling, climate impact assessment and demand forecasting.
What you'll need
In this role, you will be comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider team of technically skilled individuals to deliver technical outputs and disseminate them to the wider team.
We are looking for:
- experience programming with Python and R
- the ability to develop, follow and maintain procedures to ensure the accurate maintenance of technical workflows
- good attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure reporting deadlines are met
- strong problem-solving and methodical skills, and the ability to work using your own initiative
- a degree in a relevant data science, environmental or engineering subject
- experience in water resources planning or other technical planning areas
- experience working in DevOps and with Git
- experience working in a regulated environment, including liaison with regulators and regulatory reporting.
