Are you a CAD Technician looking to further expand and develop your current skill set? Do you have a keen eye for detail and interest in sustainable and innovative construction? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Structural CAD Technician to join YTL Construction.
What you'll do
YTL Infrastructure completes a programme of water treatment, wastewater, and network projects across our region. We have a solid pipeline of design and construction work that takes us through to the end of 2030 and beyond.
Based in the award-winning YTL offices in Bath, you'll be involved in:
- providing design drawings to a team of Temporary Works, Structural and Geotechnical Engineers, and the wider business
- producing structural and detailed engineering drawings, including RC detailing
- ensuring the drawings are delivered to the agreed quality, programme, and cost constraints
- working within project teams to help drive the function's development
- developing drawing and engineering skills as part of a small dedicated team.
The team provides technical input, design and approval for construction works on our capital programme which includes condition reports, foundation designs, temporary works designs and ground models.
You will receive all the profiessional development you need via our established mentoring scheme to help take your career to the next level.
What you'll need
You will have two to five years' experience in a similar role with a good level of education and preferably a degree or HNC in a relevant discipline.
You will also need:
- experience in producing drawings for buildings, structures and preferably water infrastructure projects
- the ability/willingness to learn to produce short simple structural calculations
- excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, with a working knowledge of CADs RC (or similar)
- working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit (advantageous)
- strong IT and communication skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- a diligent and thorough approach to work
- a valid driving licence as you will be required to visits sites across our region.
