We have an exciting opportunity for you to work with a forward thinking and highly competent team and be part of their journey that will drive the operational success of the supply system into the future.
In this diverse and varied role, you'll be working with numerous teams across the business, including Water Production and Supply Optimisation.
This role includes working as part of a 24/7 shift team alongside the Network Response Controllers and Supply Telemetry Coordinators.
What you'll do
You'll be responsible for taking custody of the water supply system and optimising the strategic network through remote control. You'll also deal with incidents and failures as they arise and ensure we optimise the strategic network performance, operation and water quality to minimise business risk.
Your day-to-day, will involve:
- monitoring the water supply telemetry system, proactively seeking 'extraordinary trends', responding to alarms and co-ordinating the appropriate response
- working closely with operational field teams, to ensure we prevent service failure and secure delivery within business key performance indicators (KPIs)
- developing intelligent monitoring and alarm management, whilst carrying out remote monitoring
- the operation of the strategic water supply assets to maintain water quality and secure customer service delivery
- overseeing out-of-hours delivery of high risk planned operations, solving problems, and co-ordinating water supply event management, including close liaison within the control room, science and field teams to maximise an effective response
- working closely with stakeholders.
What you'll need
You'll have an understanding of the remote operation of a supply system, operating multiple assets to ensure supply optimisation.
You will also have knowledge of telemetry systems and automated plant environments, detailed data analysis and system optimisation. Ideally, you will have experience in water production or water treatment and either a mechanical, electrical or scientific background.
