Are you searching for a new opportunity where you can utilise your knowledge of telemetry alarm management, while also satisfying your passion for working in a forward-thinking and dynamic team? If so, our Supply Telemetry Coordinator role will be a great new opportunity for you!
What you'll do
You will play a critical role in reducing operational risk and ensuring the management of telemetry alarms.
Working in the control room, you will be responsible for the monitoring and initial response to telemetry alarms received from our water production and distribution assets, identifying appropriate staff to attend the site and allocating work for corrective action.
As well as working to alarm priorities, you will apply a context-sensitive approach to alarm management to identify the appropriate response.
You will also highlight areas of risk across the wider supply system, resolve recurring alarms and implement procedure improvements. Close liaison and excellent communication with control room staff and operational field teams is essential.
You will form a pivotal part of the operational response to supply alarms and incidents, driving to minimise service failure and maximise an efficient response through data-driven assessments.
Additional responsibilities include:
- administration and use of CCTV applications
- liaison with work scheduling and field teams
- alarm changes and process management
- the remote operation of plant
- the live analysis of telemetry and other corporate data
- following procedures for critical alarms
- the maintenance and administration of handovers.
What you'll need
Alarms can vary in volume and criticality, so excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail are key to ensure priorities are identified and alarms are always effectively managed.
An understanding of water supply systems or telemetry systems would be ideal, but if you have the aptitude and approach to effectively problem solve, we'll ensure you get all the training you need to confidently adapt your skills to the role.
You'll also need to be competent in interpreting data and communicating clear information to stakeholders for action.
This is a busy and fast-paced role, so you will need to be comfortable working at pace while being able to deliver important activities, such as coordinating the response to critical telemetry alarms.
Additionally, you'll have the following skills and experience:
- liaising with technical staff and the ability to discuss technical concepts
- experience working in an operational team/control room
- the ability to adapt between following strict procedures and using your own initiative
- delivering a consistent performance under all workload conditions, including during operational incidents and weather events
- advanced PC skills, including Microsoft products.
What you'll receive
- A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
- Career progression and professional development opportunities.
- 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
- The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.
- The opportunity to buy up to ten days of holiday each year (subject to conditions).
- A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
- Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
- The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
- Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
- One paid volunteering day each year.
- Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
- Access to an interactive health and wellbeing platform.
- Support from trained mental health first aiders.
- A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone who is successfully recruited by us.
