About the team

We have a dedicated team travelling across the whole Wessex Water area, carrying out plumbing inspections at properties and helping customers and business owners understand how they must protect their drinking water.

The Water Fittings team are the unsung heroes protecting drinking water. We are a small team working within the Compliance department and work very closely with water quality advisers, public health, scientists and network teams. 

We have a well-rounded understanding of what can influence drinking water and use this to investigate and resolve potential issues.

What you'll do

You'll be essential in supporting the team's day-to-day work by making appointments with customers, answering questions, replying to emails, managing the team's work calendars and preparing and editing reports for customers and colleagues.

You will help get water to customers while keeping it safe and clean, as well as learning about and experiencing everything our department does to look after drinking water, including site visits and shadowing inspections.

There may be opportunities to gain additional qualifications in relevant water fittings courses for the right candidate. You will be using Microsoft Office packages for these tasks, as well as the company's geographical mapping system (GIS).

Where you'll work

This role is mainly office-based at our head office in Bath as the main location, with a regional office in Trowbridge as another option.

You will also shadow the inspectors and travel with them to customer properties and places like farms, food producers, campsites, water treatment centres, offices – anywhere that uses water.

Two years, including an end point assessment.

Qualifications you'll gain

Customer Service Practitioner Level 2/3.

Training provision

The course is run by a local college.
