About the role

As part of our Leakage team, you will be responsible for identifying leaks and helping us to save water and prevent service issues.

From responding to a customer enquiry to using specialist equipment to inspect for unseen leaks, no two days are the same in this role. You will work with Distribution Inspectors and Repair and Maintenance teams to ensure that leaks can be fixed in line with our service level agreements.

You will become familiar with the supply network in your region, along with customers and landowners. like farmers.

Once competent, each day you’ll be given your own care load to go and assess for leaks. Your role is to help the business, find and identify leaks to reduce the water leaks and reduce the impact on the environment, day or night.

Where you'll work

You will be required to travel to different locations. A company vehicle will be supplied to you when you are ready to work independently.

Duration

  • Three years plus end point assessment.

Qualifications you'll gain

  • Water Industry Network Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Training provision

  • Training will be delivered by the YTL Wessex Academy.
  • Monthly workshops and one-to-one days with your skills coach.
  • Training will be delivered on site by qualified Wessex Water instructors.
  • Weston College will deliver a short training course as part of this apprenticeship.
  • Maths and English will be delivered online.
