About the Mechanical & Electrical team

Become part of our highly skilled Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) team working on installing circuits and machines in our large-scale construction projects.

Every day, across our region, our M&E teams install electrical equipment and cabling into our newly built works and assets.

Our M&E department is a developing team, building our own design and installation capability for new and modified clean water and water recycling schemes within Wessex Water.

What will you be doing?

  • Shadowing experienced electricians installing plant and equipment.
  • Preparing and installing cabling systems.
  • Installing all types of cable containment.
  • Glanding and terminating all types of cabling.
  • Assisting with installation and mechanical plant and equipment.
  • Testing and commissioning.
  • Fault finding.

Where will you work?

This role is regional so you will be expected to work anywhere within the Wessex Water region from Bristol and Bournemouth and Salisbury to Taunton.

What do we look for?

  • Strong maths, science, technical drawing or resistant materials qualifications are an advantage.
  • Adaptable and flexible with a proactive and positive approach to workload.
  • Excellent all-round communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel around the region.
  • Apply logical thinking and problem solve.
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic about the industry.
  • Happy working outside in all weathers.
