Mechanical and Electrical Installer Apprentice
As a Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Installer, you will work on installing circuits and machines for our large-scale construction projects.
About the team
Every day, our teams install electrical equipment and cabling into our newly built works and assets across our region.
Our M&E department is a developing team, building our own design and installation capability for new and modified clean water and water recycling schemes.
What you'll do
- Shadow experienced electricians installing plant and equipment.
- Prepare and install cabling systems.
- Install all types of cable containment.
- Gland and terminate all types of cabling.
- Assist with the installation and mechanical plant and equipment.
- Testing and commissioning.
- Fault finding.

Where you'll work
This role is regional so you will be expected to work anywhere within our region from Bristol to Bournemouth and Salisbury to Taunton.
What you'll need
- Strong maths, science, technical drawing or resistant materials qualifications are an advantage.
- Adaptable and flexible with a proactive and positive approach to workload.
- Excellent all-round communication skills.
- The ability to travel around the region.
- The ability to apply logical thinking and problem solve.
- Good attention to detail.

- Happy working outside in all weather.

Duration
- Three years plus end point assessment.
Qualifications you'll gain
- Electrical Installation and Maintenance Level 3 Apprenticeship.
- Advanced Diploma in Electrical Installation.
- Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2).
Training provision
- Training will be delivered by Weston College.
- One to two days per week at college, depending on previous qualifications and experience.
