Repair and Maintenance Apprentice
Train to become part of our skilled Repair and Maintenance (R&M) Supply team.
About the role
You will be responding to call outs and completing the planned maintenance of our clean water supply networks.
Our R&M team plays a crucial role in our day-to-day operations, ensuring our customers have minimal disruption to their water supply.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure our customers are not inconvenienced for any longer than possible. You will be responding to problems and working in different locations each day.
If you enjoy manual work alongside operating small construction machinery, this physically demanding, outdoor role will suit you.
What you'll do
- Excavate ground in urban and rural areas.
- Repair broken and leaking clean water pipes.
- Carry out mechanical coupling or heat fusing to join pipes together.
- Use reinstatement techniques including tarmac, concrete and block paving.
- Work safely to modern highway standards.

Where you'll work
As every day is different, your location will also be different but, you will be within 90 minutes of home and will work in one of our local teams.

Qualifications you'll gain
- Water Network Operative Apprenticeship.
- SHEA card.
- Hygiene card.
- Street works.
Training provision
- Training will be delivered by Bridgwater and Taunton College.
- Block release – two weeks every two months.
- Residential.
- Classroom and practical.
- On site assessor visits.
