About the role

You could be excavating and repairing burst sewer pipes, dealing with a sewer collapse, or making new connections as well as landscaping and general building works.

You will be working outdoors with a great team, dealing with different challenges every day and providing a vital service to our customers.

Based with one of our regional Repair and Maintenance teams, you will experience a range of unplanned repair tasks and planned maintenance jobs.

What you'll do

  • Excavation, including CAT and Genny in various locations.
  • Sewer repairs.
  • Chamber repairs and builds.
  • Pumping and dewatering.
  • Traffic management.
  • Dealing with sewerage spills.
  • Making new connections.
  • Reinstatement.
  • Working safely to modern standards.

Where you'll work

As every day is different, your location will also be different, but you will be within 90 minutes of home and will work in one of our local teams.

Duration

  • Two years plus end point assessment.

Qualifications you'll gain

  • Ground Worker Level 2 Apprenticeship.
  • SHEA card.
  • Streetworks.

Training provision

  • Training will be delivered by Bridgwater and Taunton College.
  • Block release – two weeks every two months.
  • Residential.
  • Classroom and practical.
  • On site assessor visits.
